EVOLUTION OF THE ONE VOICE LABEL
What is ONE VOICE?
One Voice is an association under the 1908 Law that cultivates its political, religious, and financial independence as a guarantee of its freedom of speech and action. Since 1995, it has been at the forefront of the non-violent fight for animal rights and respect for all life, thus perpetuating the vision of the Whole and the unity of all struggles dear to its famous patron, Théodore Monod.
The association is the French representative of the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments.
2 June 2011: a new definition of the ONE VOICE label allows certification to be extended to many everyday consumer products other than cosmetics, such as food, clothing, cleaning and gardening products, etc.
The One Voice label thus certifies products that are not tested on animals – both ingredients and formulation – but also that do not contain any animal substances, with the exception of honey, pollen, beeswax, and Organic. With this, One Voice responds to the growing demands of “consumer stakeholders” who want to be able to identify products, whether French or foreign, which do not harm animals, humans, or the planet.
Recently, an investigation revealed that a major brand tested a beverage “as natural as tea” on animals although the law does not require it.
Although the label can be applied to any product, French or foreign, One Voice has decided not to include China in the scope of its certification because, in order to enter the Chinese market, all goods must be tested, mainly on animals.
What happens to products that already bear the label?
The 634 products that already bear the One Voice label will be the subject of a specific study. They will be analysed to ensure that they have not been tested on animals and do not contain any animal substances.

The label is not awarded by the association itself, but by an independent body which does so after an audit lasting several months. No donation, contribution or subscription is required from companies to use the label.
